MP Tiger Population Nears 1000 Mark
Madhya Pradesh, a state in India, is known for its tigers.
The chief minister, Mohan Yadav, said that the number of tigers in the state is expected to reach more than 1,000 soon.
This is a big increase from just a few decades ago when there were very few tigers.
The state has worked hard to protect tigers and other wildlife, and this has helped the tiger population grow.
The tigers are not just in the forests but also near cities like Bhopal, where they live close to people.
The state is also home to other animals like leopards, gharials, and cheetahs.
The final count of tigers will be announced in July 2027.
Madhya Pradesh's tiger population is projected to cross 1,000 by the next census.
The state's conservation efforts have significantly increased the tiger population from double digits in 1970 to 785 in 2022.
The final report of India's sixth tiger census will be declared in July 2027.
Bhopal is the only state capital in India where tigers coexist with humans.
Madhya Pradesh is known as the 'Tiger State' and has also earned tags like 'Leopard State', 'Gharial State', and 'Cheetah State'.
