Eco Park Development in Alipurduar Amid Leopard Death
A new Eco Park is going to be built in Alipurduar, West Bengal.
The park will be built in a place called Sal Bagan, which has a lot of sal trees.
The park will have walking paths, a pond with colorful fish, and trees that will attract birds.
There will also be a place for children to play, a library with books about forests, and a spot for yoga.
The park is expected to be a fun place for people to visit and learn about nature.
Meanwhile, a dead leopard was found in a nearby tea estate.
The leopard had injuries, and it is thought that it might have died from fighting with another animal.
An Eco Park will be developed in the Sal Bagan area of Alipurduar district under the Centre’s Nagar Van Yojana.
The park will be built on 10 acres of land and will feature a walking trail, pond, fruit-bearing trees, children's play equipment, a library, and a yoga shed.
Initial funding for the project is ₹5 crore.
The park aims to serve as a recreational and educational green space while supporting biodiversity conservation.
A dead leopard was found in the Turturi tea estate with multiple injury marks, suspected to have died from infighting.
