India Extends Export Support Amid West Asia Disruptions

India Extends Export Support Amid West Asia Disruptions

The government is giving Indian exporters more help because shipping through West Asia has become harder and more expensive.

One programme, called RELIEF, helps exporters obtain insurance for shipments to certain regions.

It covers 95% of the risk for eligible shipments.

Full containers, partly filled containers and refrigerated containers can qualify, but energy shipments cannot.

Exporters will also not pay more insurance than they did before the disruptions during the eligible period.

Another programme, RoDTEP, has been extended until December 31.

RoDTEP refunds some taxes and duties included in exported goods.

The government says these measures will help Indian businesses keep trading and compete internationally.
