Delhi Court Orders Charges in Chinese Visa Scam
A court in Delhi has decided to charge Congress MP Karti Chidambaram and six other people in a case about giving visas to Chinese people.
The court said they might have done something illegal together, like taking bribes.
This case is about a power company that got visas for Chinese people in 2011 when Karti's dad was a big government official.
One person, Chetan Shrivastava, was not charged.
The court is still writing the full explanation of their decision.
Karti said he will fight the charges using the legal process.
Delhi court ordered framing of charges against Karti Chidambaram and six others in the Chinese visa scam case.
Special Judge (CBI) Dig Vinay Singh discharged one accused, Chetan Shrivastava.
Charges include criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and violations of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The case involves alleged bribery in facilitating visas for Chinese nationals in 2011 when P Chidambaram was the Union home minister.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 16, 2026.
