Yogi Adityanath Highlights Encephalitis Gains, Healthcare Expansion in Gorakhpur
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Gorakhpur to open a new charitable blood centre.
The centre was created by the Indian Medical Association to help patients who need blood.
Adityanath said healthcare in eastern Uttar Pradesh has improved greatly.
He said encephalitis, a serious illness that affected children, has been eliminated.
He also said the state now has many more medical colleges and medical training seats.
The government plans to provide dialysis units in every district hospital.
Doctors were asked to encourage people to donate blood safely and voluntarily.
The chief minister said new healthcare centres and advanced medical facilities are also being developed.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said encephalitis has been eliminated, comparing the achievement to the removal of mafia influence and mosquitoes.
He inaugurated the Indian Medical Association’s 400-unit charitable blood centre in Gorakhpur on September 16, 2026.
The chief minister said Uttar Pradesh now has 85 medical colleges, two operational AIIMS facilities and more than 13,500 MBBS seats.
He announced plans for 10-bed dialysis units in all district hospitals and said free dialysis services are being expanded statewide.
Adityanath urged voluntary blood donation and warned that unsafe professional blood donation could create infection risks.
