Political Violence Escalates in Andhra Pradesh
There have been two big fights between political groups in Andhra Pradesh.
First, supporters of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) attacked the home of a former minister named Ambati Rambabu, who is a leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
They were angry because Rambabu made some mean comments about their leader, the Chief Minister.
They broke into his house, damaged it, and even destroyed a car.
The YSRCP says the police did nothing to stop the attack and that it was an attempt to murder Rambabu.
The next day, another group of TDP supporters attacked and set fire to the home of another former minister, Jogi Ramesh.
His family was inside the house at the time, but he was not there.
The YSRCP leaders say the police did not help and that these attacks are part of a plan to scare the opposition.
The leader of the YSRCP, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said that the government is using violence because they cannot handle questions about their actions.
He warned that the public is getting angry and that this violence will not be tolerated.
The police are trying to keep the situation under control.
Clashes between TDP and YSRCP supporters led to attacks on the homes of former Andhra Pradesh ministers Ambati Rambabu and Jogi Ramesh.
YSRCP alleges the incidents were attempts to murder the leaders and that police failed to intervene.
The attacks were in response to political remarks and a hoarding controversy involving Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
The mobs damaged the homes and a parked car during the attacks, with Jogi Ramesh's house being set on fire.
Rambabu was arrested for alleged derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister, and YSRC leaders were arrested while trying to reach Jogi Ramesh's house.
