Microsoft Gains Record $450 Billion Market Value in One Day
Microsoft’s stock jumped more than 15% on Thursday, adding about $450 billion to its market value.
The big boost came from its cloud service, Azure, which earned 43% more than last year and is expected to grow even faster next quarter.
Azure also made over $100 billion in a year for the first time.
Microsoft is still spending a lot on data centers—$175 billion in 2026 and $50 billion in the first quarter of 2027—but it says it will keep making cash.
Because of this, analysts raised their price targets, and the market now sees Microsoft’s AI investments as a source of real money, not just a cost.
Microsoft shares surged >15% on Thursday, adding ~$450B to market cap.
Azure revenue grew 43% YoY, beating expectations, and is forecast to grow 45% in Q1 FY27.
Azure crossed $100B annual revenue for the first time.
Microsoft maintains $175B capex for 2026 and $50B for Q1 FY27 while staying cash‑generative.
Analysts raised price targets, averaging $560.90, reflecting confidence in AI‑driven growth.
