Postal Department to Discontinue Certain International Letter Services
The Postal Department in India has announced that it will stop some international letter mail services starting January 1, 2026.
These services include Registered Small Packet and Small Packet services.
The reason for this change is to make the services better by adding tracking and making sure items get to their destination faster and safer.
The department will still offer services for sending documents like letters and postcards.
They also recommend using services like the International Tracked Packet Service (ITPS) for sending goods abroad.
This change is part of a plan to make postal services more reliable and customer-friendly, following global standards set by the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
