The North-East monsoon, which follows, may also start late.
There's a chance of a La Nina weather pattern, which could affect rainfall and temperatures.

IMD predicts a delayed withdrawal of the South-West monsoon.
October is expected to have above-normal rainfall across most of India.
The North-East monsoon onset is likely to be delayed.
