Delhi Voices Launch Book on Girl Empowerment
On National Girl Child Day, two groups, MukkaMaar in Delhi and Shaheen Women’s Resource and Welfare Association in Hyderabad, held events to talk about making girls feel safe and strong.
In Delhi, they had a big meeting and showed a new book called 'ZIDD' that tells stories of brave girls.
Important people from the government and police were there.
They said everyone needs to listen to girls and help them when they feel scared or hurt.
They also said we should not ignore small hurts, like mean words, because they can be just as bad as physical harm.
The group wants to make sure girls' voices are heard and that everyone works together to keep them safe.
In Hyderabad, they talked about how to use computers and the internet to help girls.
They also talked about the laws that protect girls and how everyone, including the courts and schools, needs to work together to keep girls safe and happy.
MukkaMaar organized a high-level panel discussion on girl safety and empowerment on National Girl Child Day.
The event featured the pre-launch of the book 'ZIDD: Voices of Resistance', which highlights stories of adolescent girls' resistance and courage.
Speakers included representatives from the Delhi Government, Delhi Police, and child rights sector.
Key discussions focused on the need to redefine violence, lower tolerance for it, and increase collective consciousness for change.
Shaheen Women’s Resource and Welfare Association held a program in Hyderabad under the theme ‘Empowering Girls Digitally for a Bright Future’, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy and legal frameworks in protecting and empowering girls.
