Allahabad HC to Hear Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah Case on Dec 12
A court in India, the Allahabad High Court, will have another meeting on December 12 to discuss a disagreement about a piece of land in Mathura.
This land is special because it is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna, and there is a mosque called Shahi Eidgah on it.
Some people believe the mosque was built a long time ago after tearing down a temple.
The court had previously decided that the cases about this land could be heard, even though there are laws that usually protect religious places as they are.
The court is now giving everyone a final chance to share their written arguments before they continue discussing the matter.
The Allahabad High Court has set December 12 for the next hearing in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Idgah mosque dispute in Mathura.
The Hindu side has filed 18 suits seeking possession of the land after removal of the Shahi Idgah structure and restoration of a temple.
Justice Avnish Saxena granted a final opportunity for parties to file written statements in cases where they have not yet been filed.
Earlier, on August 1, 2024, the court rejected applications from the Muslim side challenging the maintainability of the suits.
The court had also ruled that the suits are not barred by the Limitation Act, Waqf Act, and the Places of Worship Act, 1991.
