Adani Acquires Majority Stake in Flight Training Provider
Adani Defence Systems and Technologies has bought a big part of a company called Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) for ₹820 crore.
FSTC is a big name in India for teaching people how to fly planes.
They have special machines that copy what flying is like and many training planes.
Adani wants to use this to help more people become pilots, both for regular airlines and for the military.
This is because India needs more pilots as airlines are getting more planes.
Meanwhile, Air India is focusing on using its new training academy for its own needs before helping other airlines.
Air India's training is cheaper than other places and includes many different courses for pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff.
Adani Defence Systems and Technologies acquired a 72.8% stake in Flight Simulation Technique Centre (FSTC) for ₹820 crore.
FSTC is India's largest independent provider of flight training and simulation, operating 11 full-flight simulators and 17 training aircraft.
FSTC has simulation centers in Gurugram and Hyderabad, and flying schools in Bhiwani and Narnaul, Haryana.
The acquisition is part of Adani's strategy to build a fully integrated aviation services platform, including civil, general, and defence MRO, and full-stack flight training.
Air India is focusing on fully operationalising its new training academy for its internal requirements before exploring external partnerships.
