TPCC Delays Disciplinary Decision on Surekha, Chinna Reddy
TPCC Disciplinary Committee Undecided on Action Against Konda Surekha, Chinna Reddy · deccanchronicle.com

The Congress disciplinary committee in Telangana is deciding whether two party leaders should face action.

The leaders are Minister Konda Surekha and senior leader G. Chinna Reddy.

They were asked to explain comments described as against the party and the Chief Minister.

Both leaders denied wrongdoing and asked for the notices to be withdrawn.

The committee watched videos showing comments by Surekha’s daughter, Konda Susmita, and by Chinna Reddy.

It said Susmita’s remarks went too far and questioned why Surekha did not condemn them.

Chinna Reddy said he was only describing problems faced by longtime Congress workers.

The committee has postponed its decision and will meet again.

Quotes

Mallu Ravi

MP and head of the TPCC disciplinary committee

“If someone speaks against the party, why did Konda Surekha not respond? According to the principles of natural justice within the party, she should have condemned the remarks. When remarks were being made against the government and the Chief Minister, why did she remain silent”
