Rishabh Pant’s Comeback Reaches Test Cricket Six-Hitting World Record
Rishabh Pant is an Indian cricketer known for hitting attacking shots.
He recently hit his 100th six in Test cricket.
He reached that number faster than any other batter.
India then defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs.
Pant’s journey was difficult before he became famous.
As a teenager, he and his mother sometimes slept at a gurdwara while he trained in Delhi.
In 2022, a serious car crash badly injured his knee and threatened his career.
Pant spent a long time recovering and returned to cricket in 2024.
His record shows how he kept coming back and playing in his bold style.
Rishabh Pant scored 66 from 69 balls in India’s first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle.
Pant hit his 100th Test six in 4,918 deliveries, faster than Adam Gilchrist’s previous record of 6,578.
India defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs after Pant’s counter-attacking innings.
Pant and his mother once stayed at a Delhi gurdwara while he pursued better cricket opportunities.
After a serious December 2022 car crash, Pant returned to competitive cricket through the 2024 IPL and played in India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign.
