Manoj Jha Challenges Nitin Nabin’s Evidence-Free Claims Over SIR
A political disagreement has developed over a review of India’s voter lists called the Special Intensive Revision.
Nitin Nabin of the BJP said opposition parties were confusing people about the review.
Manoj Kumar Jha of the RJD replied that accusations should be supported by proof.
Jha also criticized language surrounding a mosque dispute in Ujjain.
He said such language could divide people by religion.
Jha said the INDIA bloc was still working together even though Akhilesh Yadav did not attend a meeting personally.
Revanth Reddy made comments about how different regions worship different deities.
Those comments led to criticism from the BJP and a response from Jha.
Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Manoj Kumar Jha said allegations against the Opposition over the Special Intensive Revision should be supported by evidence.
Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Nabin had accused the Opposition of misleading the public and targeting constitutional institutions over the electoral-roll revision.
Jha criticized the handling of the Ujjain Shahi Masjid dispute, warning against what he called dog-whistle politics, othering and demonisation.
Jha said Akhilesh Yadav’s representative attended the INDIA bloc meeting and denied that the absence indicated a rift.
Jha also criticized Revanth Reddy’s remarks contrasting regional religious traditions, while Reddy alleged that the BJP had appropriated Lord Ram and represented wealthy interests.
