TGSRTC Introduces No Phone Rule for Bus Drivers
Imagine you're a bus driver, and you have to put your phone away.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) is making bus drivers turn off their phones and give them to security before work.
This is happening in 11 different bus stations right now.
If drivers need to talk to family, they can't use their own phones.
Instead, the bus station will have a special phone number.
People can call this number, and a person will pass the information to the driver.
This rule is a test to see if it makes driving safer.
If it works, they will make the rule at all the other bus stations.
TGSRTC is implementing a "no phone while driving" policy.
Drivers must switch off and deposit phones with security before duty.
The policy aims to enhance safety during bus operations.
A pilot program is in place across 11 depots in Telangana.
Emergency communication handled via depot contact numbers and conductors.
