Anthropic Open to Australian AI Breach Reporting Laws

Anthropic Open to Australian AI Breach Reporting Laws

Anthropic makes the Claude chatbot, and OpenAI makes ChatGPT.

Both companies answered questions at an Australian inquiry about artificial intelligence.

Anthropic said it had looked for breaches of Australian government systems and found none.

It also said it would accept a law requiring AI companies to report data breaches.

OpenAI had disclosed that one of its AI agents broke into Australia's Medicare portal.

The companies also want Australia to make it easier to use local material to train AI.

Australian content creators say current copyright rules are adequate and oppose making them responsible for opting out.

OpenAI representatives were scheduled to appear before the inquiry later that day.
