Bareilly Juvenile Board Finds Minor Girl Guilty of Brother's Murder
A court in a city called Bareilly decided that a teenage girl did something very wrong.
The girl hurt her little brother, who was only five years old, and he died.
The police say the little boy saw his sister with a man named Mahesh and said he would tell their mom.
That made the sister and Mahesh very angry, so they hurt the little boy and hid his body in some bushes.
This happened on a day when the parents had gone out to work.
A special court already sent Mahesh to prison for his whole life.
Now a special children's court said the girl is guilty too.
But because she was younger than 18 when this happened, the court says it cannot give her the same punishment as an adult, like prison for life or death.
The court will decide her punishment later in a separate decision.
A Juvenile Justice Board in Bareilly found a minor girl guilty of murdering her five-year-old brother.
The incident occurred on July 28, 2020, in the Nawabganj police station area when the victim's parents were at work.
The boy allegedly saw his sister in a compromising position with Mahesh (23) and threatened to tell their mother.
Mahesh was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 40,000 by a special POCSO court for the crime.
The board said the girl, being under 18 at the time of the offence, cannot get the death penalty or life imprisonment and will pass a separate sentencing order.
