Nepal Floods Leave 71-Year-Old With Debt After Devastation

A very large flood hit parts of Nepal on August 26.

The water came suddenly from the Bhote Koshi River.

Govind Prasad Dahal, who is 71, escaped with his life but lost his house and business.

His business was worth almost 10 crore Nepali rupees.

After the water went away, he found only mud, broken walls, and debris.

He now says he has debt but almost nothing else.

Nearly 600 people have died, and many others are still missing.

Thousands of people have been rescued from the flooded areas.
