Kolkata Port Sees Cargo Handling Growth in Five Months

Imagine a port as a busy loading and unloading area for ships.

The Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata had a successful period from April to August.

The port handled a total of 28.236 million metric tonnes of cargo.

That's 16% more cargo than the same time last year.

The Haldia Dock Complex handled 20.625 MMT, a 13.23% increase, and the Kolkata Dock System saw a 24.35% jump.

This boost in cargo movement indicates strong activity and growth for the port.
