Haworth Expands Manufacturing in India, Building Global-Standard Workplaces
Haworth is a big company that makes office furniture.
They first sold their products in India in 1997, but they started making them there in 2005.
Now they have a big factory near Chennai that makes chairs, desks, and workstations all in one place.
They are building a second factory to double their space and help other countries get their furniture too.
The furniture they make in India follows strict safety rules and is made with clean energy.
Haworth also helps local communities in Tamil Nadu with projects like clean water and renewable energy.
Haworth began selling in India in 1997 and started manufacturing there in 2005, now producing chairs and desks locally.
The Sriperumbudur plant in Chennai covers 21,000 sq m, vertically integrates metal, plastic, upholstery, and workstation production.
A second factory is under construction, expected to double capacity and support exports across Asia‑Pacific.
Products made in India meet IS 17631:2022, IS 17633:2022, BIFMA Level 3, and 83 % carry environmental declarations.
Haworth partners with Sevalya to support rural Tamil Nadu development and runs the plant on 100 % renewable energy.
