India's Tech Job Openings Rise 17%, Reach 18-Month High
A report says India had 123,000 active technology job openings in October 2026.
That was more than in September and 17% higher than a year earlier.
It was also the highest number in 18 months.
IT services companies had the most openings and drove much of the increase.
Many jobs were for people with experience, rather than beginners.
Most openings were full-time, and many were based in offices.
Remote and hybrid openings were lower than a year earlier.
Bengaluru had more openings than any other city in the report.
India had 123,000 active technology job openings in October 2026, up 17% year over year and the highest level in 18 months.
IT services led the recovery with 66,000 openings, up 57% from October 2025.
Mid-senior roles made up 55% of openings, while full-time positions accounted for 76%.
Work-from-office openings reached 100,000, while remote and hybrid openings declined year over year.
Bengaluru remained the largest city market with 31,000 openings; Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations were up 67% year over year.
