Rajasthan High Court Orders RVUNL to Pay Adani Rs 740 Crore
A company called RVUNL has to pay Adani's company 740 crore rupees.
The dispute started when a tax called the compensation cess replaced another tax on coal.
The High Court agreed with the decision made by a previous arbitrator and commercial court.
They said RVUNL should pay the tax to Adani.
This is because they had an agreement to pay for the taxes on the coal that was mined.
This decision means that Adani's company, which mines coal, will get the money to cover the cost of the tax.
Rajasthan High Court dismissed RVUNL's appeal.
RVUNL was ordered to pay Rs 740 crore in compensation to Adani's PKCL.
The dispute originated from the replacement of CEC with a compensation cess after GST introduction in 2017.
PKCL is a joint venture between Adani Enterprises Ltd (74%) and RVUNL (26%).
The arbitrator and commercial court previously ruled in favor of PKCL.
