Rare Barbary Lion Cubs Born at Czech Zoo, Plans for Future
Some baby Barbary lions, which are super rare and don't live in the wild anymore, were born at a zoo!
These lions used to live in North Africa but were hunted a lot and lost their homes.
Now, there are only a few left in zoos.
The new baby lions will go to other zoos to help keep their kind alive.
Scientists are also talking about maybe bringing them back to their old homes in Africa someday, but it's a long process with lots of planning to make sure the lions and the environment are safe.
Four Barbary lion cubs were born at the Dvur Kralove Safari Park in the Czech Republic.
The cubs are part of an international endangered species program.
The cubs will be sent to other zoos, including one in Israel.
Preliminary steps have been taken for possible reintroduction to their natural habitat.
A conference is planned in Morocco to discuss reintroduction feasibility.
