Reports Say Munir Carried US Framework to Iran, Unconfirmed

Pakistan’s military chief, Asim Munir, visited Iran with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

They met Iran’s president and several other senior officials.

The talks were about reducing fighting and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi broadcasters said Munir may have brought a proposal from the United States.

The reported proposal would gradually remove sanctions and a naval blockade if Iran reopened the strait.

It would also ask Iran-linked groups to stop attacks.

However, no government has confirmed that Munir officially delivered this proposal.

The discussions also tried to restart an earlier agreement called the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

Pakistani and Iranian officials called the meeting productive, but Iran said Washington must change its approach.
