BJP Appoints and Drops Co-Accused in Badlapur Rape Case

BJP Appoints and Drops Co-Accused in Badlapur Rape Case

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appointed Tushar Apte, who was a co-accused in a sexual abuse case, as a councillor in the Kulgaon-Badlapur Municipal Council.

Apte was the secretary of a school where the abuse allegedly happened and was arrested but later granted bail.

The main accused in the case, Akshay Shinde, was killed in an alleged police shootout.

The BJP said they appointed Apte because his guilt has not been proven and he has been active in the party.

However, there was a lot of criticism from other political parties and the public.

Due to this pressure, Apte decided to resign from his position as a councillor.

The case is still in court.
