10 arrested for renting bank accounts to cyber fraudsters
The police in Chandigarh have arrested 10 people for letting others use their bank accounts to move stolen money around.
These people were paid to let fraudsters use their accounts to make it harder for the police to track where the money came from.
The fraudsters did this to hide money they got from scams.
The police found out about this through a special portal and called their operation 'Mule Hunt'.
10 individuals arrested for renting bank accounts to cyber fraudsters in Chandigarh.
Operation named 'Mule Hunt' exposed a network facilitating digital arrest scams and part-time job frauds.
Fraud money was routed through multiple layers and sometimes converted into cryptocurrency to obscure the trail.
