How to Port Your Mobile Number to Airtel or Jio in India
If you don't like your current phone service, you can switch to a new one without changing your phone number.
This is called Mobile Number Portability (MNP).
To switch to Airtel, text PORT to 1900, then use the Airtel app or go to a store.
An Airtel person will give you a new SIM card.
To switch to Jio, text PORT and your phone number to 1900, then visit a Jio store.
Remember to bring your ID!
It's a way to keep your number even if you change phone companies.
Mobile Number Portability (MNP) allows users to switch telecom networks while keeping their number.
Users can port their number to either Airtel or Jio following specific steps.
To port to Airtel, send PORT to 1900, then use the Airtel Thanks app or visit a store.
To port to Jio, SMS PORT <10-digit mobile number> to 1900, then visit a Jio store.
Both processes involve receiving a Unique Porting Code (UPC).
