Tiger Poacher Sheru Pardi, Wife Arrested After 18-Month Hunt

Authorities in Madhya Pradesh arrested Sheru Pardi and his wife, Binori Bai.

Officials say Sheru was wanted for about 18 months in a tiger-poaching case.

They were arrested in Shahdol district while allegedly going to hunt wild animals.

A court ordered that they remain in custody for five days.

Investigators say a larger group killed tigers in several Indian states.

They also allege that the group sold tiger body parts to smugglers.

The body parts may have been sent onward to other countries, including China.

Sheru reportedly moved between tents and changed phones to avoid being found.
