CAT Blames RCB for Stampede, Revokes IPS Officer's Suspension
Imagine a big crowd got hurt at a cricket game.
The police were blamed and some were told to stop working.
But, a special court looked at it and said the cricket team, RCB, caused the problem by posting on social media.
The court said the police did not have enough time to prepare.
The court also said one of the police officers should be allowed back to work and the others should be considered to return as well.
The court found the police did not do anything wrong.
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) blamed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the Bengaluru stadium stampede.
CAT revoked the suspension of IPS officer Vikash Kumar Vikash, stating his brief suspension should count as service.
The tribunal found that the police lacked time to prepare due to the late social media announcement by RCB.
The order also suggested the Karnataka government consider revoking the suspensions of two other officers.
Eleven people died in the stampede at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB victory celebrations.
