IIT Bombay Director Accepts Students’ 18-Point Charter After Midnight Showdown

Students at IIT Bombay gathered to ask the institute’s leaders to address their concerns.

Hundreds had been at the main gate since Friday.

The institute director met with them during a meeting that lasted about three hours.

Students livestreamed the discussion.

The director signed a document listing the students’ 18 demands.

This means the institute accepted the document, but it does not mean every demand has already been approved.

Institute officials said more discussions are needed and that proper procedures will be followed.

The Board of Governors will meet on Monday, and students will also have an open house.
