Bombay High Court Seeks Maharashtra Stray Dog Control Data

The Bombay High Court is asking Maharashtra for newer information about stray dogs.

It wants to know how many dogs there are and how many have been sterilised.

It also wants details about rabies vaccines and treatment.

The case is about dog attacks and rabies.

A court-appointed lawyer said many government hospitals lacked vaccines or rabies immunoglobulin.

He also raised concerns about helplines and shelters for dogs.

The government said it had prepared a chart of sterilisation figures.

The court told the state to submit an updated chart by November 2.
