Mumbai: 162 Trains Cancelled Due to Kandivli Infrastructure Block
This weekend, many trains in Mumbai will be cancelled because workers are taking down a booking office and working on a new train line.
This work, called a "block," will last 36 hours, starting Saturday afternoon and ending early Monday.
During this time, 162 trains will be stopped.
The goal is to make trains run on time by reducing traffic.
Some long-distance trains will start or end their journeys at different stations than usual to help with the work.
A 36-hour block will lead to the cancellation of 162 trains.
The block is for dismantling the elevated booking office at Kandivli.
The block will take place from 1 pm Saturday (May 31) to 1 am Monday (June 2).
Suburban and mail/express trains will operate on the fast corridor during the block.
The work is part of extending the sixth line to reduce train delays.
