Kochi Man Cheated by Delhi Dealer Selling Smuggled SUV
A young man from Kochi was tricked by a car dealer in Delhi.
The dealer sold him a fancy car that was actually smuggled from Bhutan.
The man paid a lot of money, but later found out the car was illegal.
The police are now investigating how the car was smuggled and sold.
This is the first time such a case has been reported in the state.
The car was seized by customs officials during a special operation against illegal car smuggling.
The man got his car back but decided to take legal action against the dealer.
A 22-year-old Kochi native filed a complaint against a Delhi-based car dealer for selling a smuggled luxury vehicle.
The dealer, Rohit Bedi, sold a Toyota Land Cruiser allegedly used by the Indian Embassy in Bhutan for Rs 14 lakh.
The vehicle was smuggled from Bhutan and illegally re-registered in Himachal Pradesh before being sold.
The car was seized by Customs under Operation Numkhor, which exposed large-scale illegal activities involving the smuggling of luxury vehicles from Bhutan.
