Coal India Raises First-Half Supplies 7.6% as Power Deliveries Grow

Coal India sent more coal to customers in the first half of FY27 than it did a year earlier.

It delivered 384.2 million tonnes in total.

Power plants received 302.8 million tonnes, making them the biggest group of customers.

The company also used 63 million tonnes of coal stored at its mine sites.

Better transport and coordination helped move the coal.

Supplies grew faster in the second quarter than during the first half overall.

Electricity made from domestic coal also increased.

The coal ministry says the next goal is to make supplies reliable, predictable and good quality.
