Seat Matrix Delay Could Postpone Professional Course Counselling
Imagine you want to go to college for engineering or medicine.
Before you can apply, the government needs to know how many seats are available at each school.
This information is called the seat matrix.
The people in charge of the Common Entrance Test (CET), the KEA, need this seat matrix to start helping students choose their courses.
However, the departments that collect this information have not sent it yet.
Because of this delay, the counseling process, where students pick their courses, might be delayed.
This is because the KEA needs time to process the seat matrix once they receive it.
This year, there is further delay due to issues with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
The deadline to submit the seat matrix for professional courses to KEA has passed.
The Higher Education and Medical Education departments have not yet submitted the seat matrix.
KEA officials have requested the seat matrix from the concerned departments.
The delay may postpone the counselling process for professional courses.
The Medical Education Department's delay is partially attributed to issues within RGUHS.
