GCAS Portal Sees Significant Drop in Undergraduate Registrations
Imagine you're signing up for college in Gujarat.
This year, fewer students are signing up compared to last year.
The website used for this, called GCAS, had a lot fewer people register.
This means there might be more empty spots in colleges this year.
Some students might be waiting to see if they can get into better colleges in later rounds.
Also, more students might be choosing to go to private colleges instead.
If you finished checking your application, you'll get an offer letter soon!
If not, you can still sign up for the next round.
GCAS portal registrations dropped by approximately 70,000 across Gujarat's universities.
Gujarat University saw a decline of over 13,000 registrations compared to the previous year.
Officials attribute the decline to a delayed registration start, students waiting for later rounds, and the rise of private universities.
Offer letters will be issued on May 29, with admission confirmation requiring fee payment and document submission.
Students unable to verify by the deadline can still apply in Round 2, starting May 24.
