Tamil Nadu's Power Demand Dips Amid Cool, Overcast Weather
Imagine the weather cooled down in Tamil Nadu and it started raining.
Because of this, people didn't need to use their air conditioners as much, and farmers didn't need to use as much electricity for their pumps.
This caused the amount of electricity the state needed to drop a lot.
The power company says this is just temporary.
The air conditioner and cooler sales also dropped as it wasn't as hot.
However, they think it will go back up when the weather gets warmer.
Tamil Nadu's electricity demand dropped due to cooler weather and rainfall.
Peak power demand fell to 17,001 MW on Tuesday, down from 18,853 MW the previous week.
Daily energy consumption decreased to 370 million units, compared to 415 million units.
Cooler temperatures reduced the need for air conditioning and agricultural irrigation.
An official anticipates demand to rise when temperatures increase.
