TRT World Documentary on Anti-Muslim Hate Called Propaganda by OpIndia
A TV channel in Turkey made a movie about India.
The movie says that some people in India are not nice to Muslims.
An Indian news website called OpIndia watched the movie and said it is not fair.
OpIndia says the movie only shows one side of the story.
They say the movie leaves out times when Muslim people hurt Hindu people.
OpIndia also thinks the movie does not tell the whole truth about things like houses being torn down and the Citizenship Amendment Act.
The movie is on YouTube and is about 21 minutes long.
Many people are talking about it because some agree with the movie and some do not.
OpIndia says many Indian Muslims commented on the movie and said it tells the truth.
When two sides disagree so strongly, it is best to read different sources before deciding what to believe.
Turkish state-owned broadcaster TRT World released a 21-minute-6-second documentary titled 'Inside the machinery of anti-Muslim hate in Narendra Modi's India' on August 10, 2026.
Indian news outlet OpIndia condemned the film as one-sided propaganda that ignores Islamist crimes against Hindus, including the 2002 Godhra train fire that killed 59 Hindu pilgrims.
The documentary features Supreme Court advocate Sanjay Hegde and activist Aasif Mujtaba, who say Muslims have not received justice in riots such as the 2020 Delhi riots and the 2002 Gujarat riots.
OpIndia says the film misrepresents demolitions of illegal encroachments, 'love jihad', cow vigilantes and the Citizenship Amendment Act to portray Indian Muslims as perpetual victims.
OpIndia noted that many comments under the documentary on YouTube came from Indian Muslims who said the film's account was true.

Communal Violence and Justice
Documentary's Viewpoint
Muslims are victims of organised anti-Muslim violence, with BJP governments and police protecting Hindu perpetrators; Muslims have not received justice for the 2020 Delhi riots, 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots and 2002 Gujarat riots.
OpIndia's Critique
Muslim mobs often instigate violence, as in the 2002 Godhra train fire that burned 59 Hindu pilgrims alive; the film ignores Muslim crimes such as the killing of a Hindu man in Delhi over a Holi balloon, and it omits the conviction of former Aam Aadmi Party councillor Tahir Hussain for the murder of IB officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Delhi riots.
Demolitions and Land Claims
Documentary's Viewpoint
The documentary says BJP governments deliberately demolish houses and shops belonging to Muslims as part of a machinery of anti-Muslim hate.
OpIndia's Critique
Most demolished structures were illegal encroachments on government or Hindu land, and Waqf Boards have arbitrarily laid claims over Hindu and government properties; the film withholds these facts.
'Love Jihad' and the CAA
Documentary's Viewpoint
The documentary frames 'love jihad' warnings as a BJP conspiracy theory and describes the Citizenship Amendment Act as discriminatory against Muslims.
OpIndia's Critique
OpIndia says there is a documented pattern of men faking Hindu identities to coerce women into converting to Islam, and argues the CAA excluded Muslims because persecuted Muslim communities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh were considered internal matters of those countries.
