RRP Launches India's First Indigenous Fingerprint Sensors
RRP Electronics, a company that makes semiconductor chips, has created India's first fingerprint sensors made entirely in India.
These sensors, called Samved, are very good at recognizing fingerprints quickly and securely.
They can be used for things like checking who you are online, controlling access to buildings, and even for smart locks.
The company made two types of sensors: one with a big sensing area for important security systems and another small one for devices where space is limited.
They worked with a company from Taiwan to make these sensors.
The sensors are smart because they can check fingerprints right there without needing to send the information to a computer or the internet, making them faster and more secure.
The company plans to make even better sensors in the future and expand into other areas like SIM cards and credit cards.
RRP Electronics launched India's first indigenous fingerprint sensor modules named Samved.
The modules feature high-resolution, low-power fingerprint intelligence with Edge-AI capabilities.
Applications include digital identity verification, e-governance, IoT, access control, and smart locks.
Two modules were introduced: RRP14105 (large sensing area) and RRP18125 (compact).
RRP plans to advance to wafer-level packaging and expand into SIM card and payment card segments.
