Odisha CM launches Sambalpur water project
The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi, started a big project to bring clean drinking water to Sambalpur city.
This project costs a lot of money (Rs 451.24 crore) and will build new water treatment plants and pipes.
Once it's done, about 5 lakh people will get clean water directly from their taps all the time.
Right now, the city has a big problem with not having enough water, especially in the summer.
This project is part of a bigger plan by the central government to make sure everyone has safe drinking water.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for a Rs 451.24 crore water supply project in Sambalpur.
The project aims to provide 24-hour safe drinking water to 5 lakh people in Sambalpur city.
The project includes constructing one intake well, two water treatment plants, and a 340 km-long water pipeline.
The project is part of the 'Drink from Tap' scheme under the central government's 'Amrit 2.0' mission.
