AINU Successfully Uses UroLift on High-Risk BPH Patient
Imagine a man had trouble going to the bathroom because his prostate was too big.
He had a tube inserted to help him.
Doctors used a special procedure called UroLift, where they put in tiny clips to hold the prostate tissue away from where the urine flows.
The man had heart problems and COPD, so a surgery wasn't a good idea.
This new method worked!
The man can now pee normally without the tube and feels much better.
This new process saved him from further complications.
A 72-year-old man with heart problems and COPD received the UroLift procedure.
The patient had a history of long-term catheter use due to BPH.
The UroLift was performed at AINU, Visakhapatnam by G. Ravindra Varma and team.
The minimally invasive procedure used implants to lift prostate tissue.
The patient is now catheter-free and has improved quality of life after the procedure.
