Mumbai Court Acquits PSI in 2019 Bribery Case
Imagine a police officer named Ayare who was accused of asking for a bribe, meaning he wanted money to avoid taking action against someone.
This happened in Mumbai.
The person who was asked for the bribe reported it, and Ayare was caught.
But, when the case went to court, the judge said there wasn't enough proof that Ayare actually demanded or took the money.
The person who was supposed to be the witness didn't say Ayare asked for money.
Since there wasn't enough evidence, the court found Ayare not guilty, even though he was initially caught and suspended from his job.
Later he was also involved in another case.
Shyam Hari Ayare, a PSI, was acquitted in a bribery case.
The case involved allegations of Ayare demanding a bribe in 2019.
The complainant in the case did not support the prosecution.
The court cited a lack of evidence for acquittal.
