Kashmiri Translation of Constitution Released
The University of Kashmir has made history by translating the Constitution of India into Kashmiri for the first time.
This project was done with the help of the Ministry of Law and the Central Institute of Indian Languages in Mysore.
The translation was completed in March 2025 and was released by President Droupadi Murmu on Constitution Day.
This is a big deal because it helps people in Jammu and Kashmir understand the Constitution better in their own language.
The team that worked on this project was led by Professor Aejaz Mohammad Sheikh and was supported by the Vice-Chancellor, Nilofer Khan.
