Former Khargone Engineer Sentenced Five Years in Assets Case

A court in Khargone sentenced former engineer Kailashchandra Parwal to five years in prison.

The court also ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 25 lakh.

The case began in 2002 after a complaint that he demanded a Rs 50,000 bribe.

The Lokayukta later caught him while he was allegedly accepting the money.

Investigators searched homes linked to him in Khargone, Dewas and Indore.

They said he earned about Rs 34.6 lakh from known sources.

They said he spent more than Rs 1.08 crore, leaving much of the spending unexplained.

Parwal was taken to Mandleshwar sub-jail after the judgment.
