Core Infrastructure Output Grows 5% in June
The Indian government released new data showing that the output of core infrastructure industries grew by 5% in June 2026.
This is an improvement from the 3.2% growth seen in May.
The government has updated the way they measure this growth by changing the base year to 2022-23 and adding iron ore as a new industry to watch.
Some industries like iron ore, electricity, cement, and steel grew a lot, while others like natural gas, crude oil, refinery products, and fertilizers saw a decrease.
Experts have different opinions on what this means.
Some think it's good because of increased spending by the government and private sector, while others are cautious because the growth isn't spread across all industries and some important ones are doing poorly.

Experts have differing views on the significance of the growth, with some optimistic about certain sectors and others cautious about the overall stability.
