IIT Bombay Plans Support Portal Amid Student Protest Demands

IIT Bombay Plans Support Portal Amid Student Protest Demands

Students at IIT Bombay protested after the death of student Sahil Wakode.

They presented the institute with an 18-point list of demands.

The institute’s director signed that charter after meeting with the students.

At a later open house, students said it was difficult to submit and follow up on complaints.

The director agreed that using email alone was not an efficient system.

IIT Bombay is developing a portal where students can submit complaints and receive updates.

Students may also be allowed to complain anonymously in some cases.

The institute plans to study the demands and create an action plan, but it was not clear whether the protests would end.
