Sharda University Students Achieve All India Rank 2 at ISRO Challenge
Students from Sharda University's School of Computing Science & Engineering built a special robot plane (UAV) and entered a competition run by India's space agency, ISRO.
These students, known as Team Soorya, designed their UAV to do tricky things like fly itself, find safe places to land, and land perfectly, all without help from humans.
They created their own clever computer programs to make the UAV work.
In a big competition with many other smart teams from all over India, Team Soorya came in second place!
This win shows how good Sharda University is at teaching students to be great at technology, similar to how they won third place at a past competition in 2024.
Sharda University's Team Soorya secured All India Rank 2 at the ISRO Robotics Challenge (IRoC-U 2025).
The team designed and developed an advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for the challenge.
Their UAV could autonomously navigate, identify landing zones, and perform precision landings.
The team used self-developed algorithms for navigation and autonomous landing.
This achievement follows their 3rd prize at the 2024 ISRO Rover Challenge.
