SIA Raids Homes in 1990 Kashmiri Pandit Murder Case
In 1990, a Kashmiri Pandit nurse named Sarla Bhat was murdered.
The police are now looking into the case again and raided several homes in Srinagar, including the home of Yasin Malik, who is in jail.
They are also reinvestigating the 1989 killing of a judge who sentenced a militant to death.
The police are trying to find out who killed Sarla as part of a larger plan to solve old cases involving violence in the area.
SIA conducted raids on homes of former militant commanders in connection to the 1990 murder of Sarla Bhat.
The raids included the residence of Yasin Malik, who is in Tihar Jail.
The investigation is part of a renewed campaign to reopen investigations into the killings of Kashmiri Pandits.
This is the second major case reopened and investigated by the SIA.
Other homes raided belonged to former militant commanders, some deceased or related to slain JKLF members.
