Centre Directs Haryana, UP to Revive Yamuna
The government wants to make the Yamuna River cleaner and healthier.
They had a meeting and decided on three big projects.
First, they will take water from the Ganga and Munak canals and put it into the Yamuna to help the river flow better.
Second, they will build a new water path to reduce dirt in the river.
Third, they will check all the dirty water drains from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to see how they affect the Yamuna.
They also want to make sure the water treatment plants work better and set a deadline for 2026 to fix the drains.
Additionally, they will build more places to treat dirty water from industries in Haryana.
All these steps are to help the Yamuna River stay clean and full of life.
Centre directs Haryana and UP to boost environmental flow in Yamuna through three projects.
Projects include diverting 800 cusecs from Upper Ganga Canal and 100 cusecs from Munak Canal into Yamuna.
Third-party audit of drains in Haryana, UP, and Delhi to be conducted.
